Through leadership in community development efforts, we serve as an agent of change in building a better community for all members.

Community Development

We are a community housing development organization certified by the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and can help sponsor or develop projects involving affordable rental housing, supportive housing and homes for sale to low and moderate income households.

We also employ staff certified by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to administer Community Focus Fund (CFF) grants. Each year, Indiana requests federal funds to help communities with a variety of projects such as sewer and water systems, streets and sidewalks, community centers, and fire trucks and stations. These funds allow communities to improve quality of life and ensure the health and safety of their citizens.

AHC is participating in the Magnificent Se7en initiative, a unique partnership initiated by Vectren Foundation, which launched in January 2012 by weatherizing homes thanks to the sponsorship of the Indiana Office of Energy Development.
